Public health promotes and protects the health of people and the communities where they live, learn, work, pray, and play.
Public health protects and improves communities by: preventing epidemics and the spread of disease; promoting healthy lifestyles for children and families; protecting against hazards in homes, work, communities, and the environment; assuring high-quality health care services; and preparing for and responding to emergencies. There is little of daily life not related to or influenced by public health.

Program & Services
The Pratt County Health Department offers a wide range of programs and services to promote the health and well-being of the community. These include general clinic services, a Family Planning Program, and the Early Detection Works initiative for cancer screening and prevention.
The department provides comprehensive sexual health services, immunizations for all age groups, and school-required vaccinations to protect against preventable diseases. Additionally, the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program supports families with nutrition education, food assistance, and breastfeeding resources. Through these services, the department ensures accessible, quality care for individuals and families in Pratt County.
